Going First Class With Apple MacBook Air 13 inch

Updated on June 25, 2014

We purchased the MacBook Air 13 inch on my husband's 50th birthday to make it a special gift on a milestone birthday and I am happy to share my views on it here.

My husband wanted to upgrade his laptop and as we were debating on the different choices in laptops available, it was our son who suggested the MacBook Air 13 inch.

Our son is an apple loyalist and has always been raving about the quality of the different products. He has an iPhone 4S and a iMac desktop computer and is very happy with them.

We were a little apprehensive about the high price in comparison to other laptops .A visit to the authorised dealer and seeing the seamless functions convinced us to go for it. It can also be seen as an investment for business.

The first impression holding it in my hands was it is so lightweight and it looks so sleek. This feature of easy portability was one of the reasons to choose the macbook as carrying along his laptop was an essential for my husband’s work .

Another important feature is the amazing battery life - it lasts for more than 10 hours. My husband was so happy with this feature as his earlier laptop would just fade off after few hours .

My husband always used the mouse to work even on his earlier laptop but the ease of using the trackpad made him quickly adapt to using it with comfort. Just using one, two or three finger swipes different functions can be done smoothly.Typing on the backlid keyboard is easy and the hand rest is wide.

The operating system that powers the Mac is OS X and is really powerful and apt for doing your work efficiently.Working on windows earlier,it took sometime to change to mac operating commands but it is not that hard. Also, the Macbook is compatible with Windows helping you easily transfer content.

The laptop comes with so many different build-in apps that are helpful for productivity and for fun time and we are still checking them out.

You have the Calendar,Notes,Reminders,Messages apps to assist you to organize your day.

The Pages,Numbers and Keynote Mac Apps help you with your word processing ,calculations and presentation work and your microsoft word docs are also supported in Mac.

The FaceTime app helps to instantly connect with other iPhone and mac users and the clarity was really good. The Photo Booth app lets you have fun taking snapshots and making short videos. The images quality is really sharp and we felt we looked better on screen when we saw ourselves on photo booth.

The list to checkout - iTunes,iPhoto,iMovie,iBooks,GarageBand,Game Center and more apps at the Mac App store still to explore.

We are still checking and learning the different features but are so happy with having made a good choice.

Go first class was the thought we had when we decided to buy the MacBook Air and it is a premium product well worth the cost.
